Coming close to the Election 2004, Visi Anak Bangsa Foundation once again participates to reach a successful Election. Along with 6 other organizations, such as: ISAI, LSPP, AJI, SEAPA, IMLPC and SET Foundation, we established “KOALISI MEDIA untuk PEMILU” (Media Coalition for Election) with the vision to create the Fair & Just Election.
Like in the previous Election, this year Visi Anak Bangsa Foundation is still consistent in Voters Education program but this time, we focuses in Marginalized Group based on the experience of the previous Election that the Marginalized Group did not have enough attention.
The current Voters Education program we are doing at the moment is producing booklet/syllabus which has all information about the new Election system and its technical process.
They are:
1. Booklet for young voters
2. Booklet for women
3. booklet for blind people (in Braille)
4. booklet for disabled people
5. Booklet for common people
6. The Manual Book for using the booklets above
7. Presidential Comic Book
Those booklets are distributed to other provinces through the cooperation with KPU and KPU Daerah, schools, other organisations or NGO’s.
Besides that, Visi Anak Bangsa Foundation also had a program called “Election Song Competition 2004”. The competition consists of:
1. Re-arrangement Competition of “Mars Pemilu 2004” (by: N. Simanungkalit)
2. Competition of creating Election Song, which has 4 categories:
a. Bad Politician (Politisi Busuk)
b. Female Role (Peranan Perempuan)
c. Election in Peace (Pemilu Damai)
d. The Foul of Election (Kecurangan Pemilu)
The competition started on mid January 2004 and had good response even though the publication for this program was not enough caused by the limited budget and time.
On this program, Visi Anak Bangsa Foundation had cooperation with Rumah Musik Harry Roesli and SCTV which helped to air the “Awarding Night” of the winner of this competition on February 25, 2004.
The Election songs were collected into 1 CD and already distributed to all media (especially radio) throughout the country.
Finally, Visi Anak Bangsa Foundation hopes that this program can be useful for all in order to develop the success of Election 2004.
